Who We Are: Since 2006, Friends of Fisher House Puget Sound, administered by an all-volunteer board, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, established​ to ease the burden of our military and veteran families ​during difficult times. Our organization supports a "home away from home" for the military and veteran families who care for their loved ones, receiving necessary medical treatment at a military medical center/affiliated facility. Friends of Fisher House Puget Sound keeps families together because a family's love during medical emergency is good medicine! 

​How: Friends of Fisher House Puget Sound raises funds and awareness ​to provide operational support for the guests staying at our ​three Fisher Houses in Washington State: VA Puget Sound Health Care System in Seattle, Portland VA Health Care System in Vancouver, and Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Our Priorities for Guest Services:
-Provide a well-stocked kitchen with groceries, food & beverages for everyday meals, snacks, holidays, & special events
-Provide the basic comforts of home in the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, laundry room, library, and living room areas
-Provide clean, safe, healing indoor and outdoor spaces
-Access to transportation to accompany hospitalized loved ones to affiliated center when medical care is paid for by the VA or DOD
​-Access to technology similar to home: internet, satellite TV, computer
-Provide a sense of camaraderie, family, and normalcy; compassionate care
​Family Journey Through Separation and Healing
Adela was 5 years old when she was diagnosed with a very dangerous form of anemia. Her family traveled from Germany to Washington state for her medical care. That's when Fisher House stepped in and provided her family with a home away from home.
