Being in Fisher House made Lauren feel "blessed and pampered". She joked that what she enjoyed most about the House were "the pillows and the teddy bear, because I missed my puppy". She raved about the large bathrooms and "the generosity of all the food and comfort provided". Also on her list were "The massage (fabulous!) and the close proximity to the hospital...it couldn't be more convenient and safe". But she returned to her favorite theme: "And yes, the pillows! The bed was extremely comfortable and I enjoyed the luxury of having a bathrobe".
While fully appreciating the luxuries she found in the Fisher House, in the end what stood out to Lauren was "the comraderie with the other guests and all the hugs". She told of overhearing another guest on the phone, describing "how amazing the Fisher House is. I don't think she ever even stayed in a hotel in her life. The gift that you gave to her in being able to stay in a place like this really warmed my heart. I could tell it meant the world to her".
Asked to describe the experience of being in Fisher House Lauren said, "No words can convey the gratitude I feel for everyone involved. In spite of the illnesses that have brought us here, we are all sorry to leave. I wish I lived closer so I could give back. This is a very special place, unlike anything I have ever experienced. I have stayed in many five star hotels but the love that grows in the Fisher House is over the moon!"
And have you heard? The pillows are really nice.
